Bell Ringing

The Bells of Bowral

In 2013 our church celebrated its sesquicentenary…that is, 150 years, for people like me who struggle with such things!

As a Church, we wondered how best to recognise such a wonderful achievement & occasion; our thinking grew from just one bell (with the help of serious ringers like Ron Shepherd) into a whole peal of (6) bells.

Our 6 bells came from various parts of Australia, as well as from England & are considered by many who come to ring them from all over the world, as one of the ‘sweetest’ peals around.

We’ve now been ringing them since their installation and our dedication and competency continues to improve. We meet every Friday evening (6.30pm) to learn the skills of bellringing & rehearse so that we can ring in the 9am morning service each Sunday. We also ring for the occasional wedding or funeral.

Ringers, whether experienced or not, are always welcome.
